Dana received her bachelor's degree in social work in 1998 from Southeastern Louisiana University and her Master of Social Work in 2005 from Southern University. Dana's style is warm and respectful. She believes the student is unique and focuses on the strength of the Individual. Dana encourages her students to build self-awareness and self-confidence to help form positive relationships.
Dana started working at Chalmette High School in 2021. She previously worked as a Mental Health professional for 16 years. She worked with young people from ages 5-21 meeting with students and families to help encourage and develop positive mental growth.
Dana believes in a person-centered approach to encourage the student to form an understanding of behaviors that will allow them to make changes toward a positive self. Dana reminds her students of their strengths and the importance of believing in themselves.
Dana has been a resident of St. Bernard Parish her entire life. Working at Chalmette High School is her dream job as she can help the youth in her community. In her spare time, she enjoys festivals, Saints games, the beach and spending time with her husband and their son.
